As the weather begins to get warmer and winter turns to spring, it’s time to spend some time on your car and get it ready for the hotter months. You should extend your spring cleaning and freshening up to your car, as there are various things that you can do to keep it in its best possible shape and looking good before the warm weather hits.
Give your car a good wash and clean the cabin. After the winter months, it’s a great idea to do a thorough wash down of your vehicle. This is especially important if you’ve been driving in areas that have used salt on the roads, as salt can eat away at the underside of your car and your car’s paint. In addition, collect and dispose of all the debris and bits of trash that have accumulated in your car during the winter months, and clean the surfaces—seats, carpets, dashboard, etc—of your cabin. Your car will look and feel brand new just in time for spring!
Check your tires and windshield wiper blades. Fluctuating temperatures and chilly weather affect tire pressure inside your tires, so you should have it checked as the weather begins to get warmer. This will help improve handling and steering of your vehicle as well as fuel efficiency. You will also want to check your windshield wiper blades, making sure that they’re flush with your windshield and are not dried out. Since wiper blades work extra hard in the winter because of harsh weather and road conditions, you will want to check them before the heavy spring showers hit.
